Knowledge E commissioned Research Consulting to conduct training and development for participating Egyptian universities and research centres on the topic of strategic research marketing and impact. The programme included the delivery of one 3-hour workshop for selected research centres and two 3-hour workshops for academic researchers. Following the workshops, a series of follow-up coaching sessions were delivered to four selected universities.

The training sessions covered topics such as strategic considerations for marketing, target audiences for marketing, practical considerations in developing marketing activity, and understanding and articulating impact form research.

For the coaching sessions the selected universities were asked to prepare information on their strategic plans for research, organisational context and their perspectives of marketing and impact, along with key challenges for marketing in their organisation. These areas were then discussed further during the individual coaching sessions, with the universities invited to develop their own strategic action plans which were presented to the group at a follow-up session, allowing for discussion and feedback.

Overall more than 95 participants took part in the training and coaching sessions, from 16 universities and research centres.

Thanks a lot to the course leaders for an excellent presentation, amazing selected case studies and hands on exercises. The workshop left me very motivated, and I’ve definitely developed a new mindset.Workshop participant
