We’re delighted to announce that Research Consulting has been appointed as a supplier to Jisc’s Research and Development (R&D) Consultancy Framework. The R&D framework is designed to allow Jisc to work with carefully selected expert suppliers to deliver specialist services across the further and higher education sectors.

After a rigorous application process, we were appointed as suppliers to two of the Framework’s lots. These are, Scholarly Communication, Information and Library services (Lot 4) and Research & Research Data Management (Lot 6).

Our experience in these sectors is already longstanding, with clients over the last 12 months including Jisc, Knowledge Exchange, Research Libraries UK, SPARC Europe and several universities to name a few. But we hope that, following our appointment to the Framework, we can continue to make informed contributions across the higher education landscape in collaboration with Jisc.

The work we’re currently undertaking at Research Consulting will also enhance our expertise in these fields. At the moment we’re looking at:

  • engaging universities, funders and technology providers to investigate opportunities to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Text and Data Mining (TDM) in grant application analytics with Jisc;
  • maintaining the Jisc Research Data Management Toolkit, which signposts researchers, research support staff and IT specialists towards relevant resources in RDM;
  • supporting Research Libraries UK to develop a model of the cost to UK higher education institutions of a transition to full open access; and
  • supporting ARMA UK to manage a national survey of university research offices

amongst many other projects!

We’re looking forward to working with our team of associates – Tracey Clarke, Michael Jubb, Neil Beagrie and Sheridan Brown – over the next few years, to develop and deliver value-driven solutions for education and research across the UK.
