In October 2023, the UK Data Service (UKDS) received £37.5 million in funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to fund its work for the next six years. In response to this, the UKDS sought to update its strategy to reflect a new set of aims and objectives, for communication with both external and internal stakeholders.
Research Consulting was commissioned to guide the formulation of the new strategy, which was developed through interactive co-creation workshops at various stages of strategic development as well as a number of interviews. We concluded the project by synthesising stakeholder inputs and drafting a strategy document, which framed the next steps of the UKDS through a set of strategy pillars and related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
We have worked with a number of consultancies but what impressed us most about Research Consulting was their ability to listen, to distinguish between relevant and superficial information and to synthesise it into impactful and plain English statements. We are exceptionally pleased with the results . Darren Bell, Associate Director, Technical ServicesDarren Bell – Associate Director, Technical Services
