Scoping options for the ‘Universities for Nottingham’ initiative

In 2019 Research Consulting were commissioned jointly by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University to support the universities in the development of a joint civic framework that would indicate how both Universities could work together to provide public, economic and cultural value at the community, civic and regional level.

The work was delivered through 32 semi-structured interviews with senior academic and professional services staff across both universities, and two workshops to discuss and refine emerging recommendations with 22 participants. The final report identified recommendations for collaborative opportunities.

Subsequently, the Universities for Nottingham initiative was launched, including a civic agreement which drew on the recommendations in the report.
