Taylor & Francis wanted to strengthen its strategic thinking about how forces such as AI, research integrity, funding pressures, geopolitical change and evolving learner expectations could reshape scholarly communication and higher education over the coming years.
Research Consulting designed and facilitated a programme of international expert workshops to inform this thinking. We convened participants from across regions and disciplines, structured the discussions around a set of agreed themes, and used a fan-chart methodology to map a range of possible futures from conservative to radical, together with the early indicators that would signal which direction is emerging.
The work gave Taylor & Francis a practical foresight tool to support more resilient, evidence-informed strategic decisions in a fast-changing landscape.
Rob and Dylan were a pleasure to work with on our project, being efficient, responsive and organised, and quickly grasped the aims and goals of the aims of the project to then define a mechanism to get us there. Rob was especially effective at setting up, running and managing a series of roundtables, ensuring we adequately covered the key topics at hand, and ensured balanced contributions from each of the attendees whilst staying on time, which is no easy challenge.
