Our approach

  • Connector.Connector.

    Evidence-based insights

Our methodology combines robust benchmarking data with deep sector knowledge to help institutions understand their strengths and weaknesses, and pinpoint areas for improvement.

  • Connector.Connector.

    Sharing of good practice

We will facilitate the exchange of good practice between participants through case studies, sharing of model templates and procedures and face-to-face networking events.

  • Connector.Connector.

    Choose your peer group

Participation is open to institutions from the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, enabling benchmarking against selected peers, national averages and international comparators.

We recognise that some institutions will require something different to our standard package. We are happy to discuss a tailored offer to meet your needs, including:
– Full day visit from a consultant (an additional £500 + expenses + VAT if confirmed before 15 December, £750 + expenses + VAT thereafter).
– Surveys of service users, either internal or external, to provide an indication of service quality (price on request).
– Attendance at good practice exchange events only (price on request).

To arrange a call to discuss your needs further please contact Rob Johnson.

We recognise that small and specialist institutions have particular needs in this area. With the focus being on front end research development activities, the complexity of managing research contracts can lead to loss of income, reputational damage and poor project management. We have therefore developed a dedicated offer at a significantly reduced rate for these institutions, in partnership with Cloud Chamber.

Please see our Small and Specialist Institution page for more information.

“The recommendations have the potential to turn what is at the moment a snapshot of current practice to one which enhances contracts management practices throughout the Russell Group and possibly beyond – a lasting legacy. Very many thanks for a job well done.”

“Rob worked with us to undertake a review of our research contracts function in early 2016. We were very happy with the value-for-money and professionalism of the work undertaken, and impressed by Rob’s in-depth understanding of the subject matter. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Research Consulting to others.”Peter Ereaut, Head, Contracts and Project Management
